The stunning surrounding views and snow-covered mountains while traversing the high passes are beyond words. Climbing the Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and Kalapatthar (5,644.5 m) while ascending and descending through rugged trails and passing Sherpa villages makes this trek a complete Himalayan adventure. The beauty of this trek is that it can be done in clockwise or anticlockwise directions.

The Everest 3 High Passes trek starts with a scenic Lukla flight. Landing at one of the world’s extreme Lukla Airport is exciting. Walk along the trekking trail leading to the Sagarmatha National Park and its diverse flora and fauna. Cross the Hillary suspension bridge and pass through the attractive Sherpa villages, including the vibrant Namche Bazaar. Visit the ancient sacred monasteries, such as the largest Tengboche. DETAILED ITINERARY Everest 3 High Passes Trek

The representative of Trek O’clock warmly welcomes our guests at the Tribhuvan International Airport. After completing all airport formalities, get transferred to the hotel. Rest and relax at the hotel and relish hotel amenities. Overnight at the hotel.

Shortly after breakfast, you meet your trekking team, including the trek guide, at our office. The guide briefs you about the trek. If you wish, you can join a guided sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley (additional costs apply). During the tour, we visit as many UNESCO heritage sites as possible that showcase the rich cultural heritage of medieval Nepal. We also complete all preparations for the trek during the day.

Note: Extra cost is applicable for Kathmandu Sightseeing.

Take a 45-minute scenic flight to Lukla, relishing the stunning views of green hills, rivers, and towering peaks. Meet the porter team after landing at Tenzing-Hillary Airport. Start the trek to Phakding passing through lush green forests, terraced farmlands, and charming villages like Chhuplung, Thado Koshi, and Ghat. Crossing the suspension bridges over the Dudhkoshi River is an exciting experience. Overnight at a lodge.

Admiring the surroundings, pass the attractive Sherpa villages of Toktok, Benkar, Monjo, and Jorsale. Enter the Sagarmatha National Park in Monjo and cherish the diverse flora and fauna. If lucky, witness some animals. Cross the popular Hillary suspension bridge and other suspension bridges. The ascending walk from the foothill of Namche Bazaar is adventurous. After walking for some hours, you arrive at the bustling Sherpa hub of Namche Bazaar. Overnight at a lodge.

Spend the acclimatization day with a scenic hike to Everest View Hotel at an elevation of 3880 m. One of the highest-altitude situated hotels is where, on a clear day, people get to see the first sight of Mt. Everest. Along with Everest, relish the views of Lhotse and Nuptse. Return to Namche and enjoy time munching at the local bakery and cafes. Overnight at a lodge.

Walk on an ascending and descending trail, following the gentle trail to Kyangjuma, passing Leushyasa. The surrounding scenery is pleasant, offering fabulous views of Thamserku and Ama Dablam. Enter the lush greenery trail following the trail from Phunki Tenga. Climb uphill to reach Tengboche. In the evening, visit the region’s largest Tengboche Monastery. Relish the traditional prayer ceremony and interact with the monks for a deeper insight. Overnight at a lodge.

Pass through the beautiful settlements of Pangboche, Milingo, Deboche, and Somare. As you trek through, trek slowly as you gain elevation. Maintain your trek pace and keep yourself hydrated. Enjoy views of Island Peak and Lhotse. Dingboche is famous for its fertile fields of buckwheat, potatoes, and barley. Overnight at a lodge.

Spend your second acclimatization day hiking to Nangsar Tshang Peak (5,083m). Get awesome views of Island Peak, Cho Oyu, Thamserku, Pumori, etc. Return to Dingboche and spend time relaxing by the Imja River in the evening. Overnight at a lodge.

Walk through the vegetation area following the trail, admiring the surrounding views. Passing the glacier of Nuptse following the rocky terrain, arrive at Niyang Khola Valley. Climb an ascending, steep trail towards the Kongma La Pass. Get rewarded by the stunning views of Mera, Pumori, Nuptse, Lobuche Peak, etc. You may gain altitude so you can trek at your own pace and slowly descend to the other side. Cross Thokla Pass, where you witness the memorials of brave mountaineers. Arrive at Lobuche for an overnight stay.

The long trek journey toward the Everest Base Camp offers spectacular views of the Khumbu Glacier Moraines. Arrive at Gorakshep and have lunch. Walk for 2 hours to reach the iconic Everest Base Camp. Relish the surrounding views and glaciers. Capture the victorious moment of reaching the base camp. During the climbing season, the base camp is occupied with several colourful tented camps. Return to Gorakshep for an overnight stay. 


The early morning hike to Kalapatthar treats you with a close-up of Everest and the surrounding views. Witnessing the sunrise view over these majestic peaks is a phenomenal experience. The elevation gain is the maximum of the entire trek, i.e., 5644.5 m. So, capture the pictures and descend as soon as possible to prevent altitude sickness. Follow the trail through Lobuche and Thokla to Dzongla. Overnight at a lodge.


The trek day to traverse the second-highest pass of the trek, so start early. Walk on a gentle terrain and cross several streams on the way. In the vicinity of high Himalayan peaks, prepare to climb the rocky field of the glacial moraine. Climb slowly towards the Cho La Pass walking at your own pace. Use of crampons proves beneficial. From the top, the views of Ama Dablam, glaciers, and rivers are spectacular. Capture these with your camera. Walk slowly on a descending trail on the other side of the pass. After long hours of walking, arrive at Dragnag for an overnight stay.


Relishing the supreme mountain scenery and surroundings, follow the trail leading to Khara. Pass through Pangka and the longest Nepal’s Ngozumpa Glacier. From there, slowly descend and walk alongside the glacier-made rivers. Afterward, walk on a steep rocky terrain, traversing beautiful lakes. Continue walking to the east shore and arrive at the charming village of Gokyo. Overnight at a lodge.


The early morning hike to Gokyo Ri commences from the base of Gokyo. Ascend slowly, traversing the beautiful Gokyo and surrounding lakes. From the top, admire the stunning Gokyo Valley, Ngozumpa Glacier, and Gokyo Lakes view. Capture the panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, Cho Oyu, etc.  After a rewarding hike, descend to Gokyo for an overnight stay.


The trek to our final pass, i.e., Renjo La, begins following the trail to the northern side of the lake. Leave the Gokyo valley main trail and follow the Renjo La trail alongside Dudh Pokhari. Ascend toward the pass slowly, maintaining your own pace, and after several hours, reach the top. The views of peaks like Everest, Lhotse, and Taboche are phenomenal. Walk down carefully on the steep trail and witness Renjo Lake on the way. Reach Lungden and rest at a lodge for an overnight stay.


Trek along the Bhote Koshi riverbank following the ancient trading Tibetan route. Stop at Thame for lunch and a short break. Cherishing the beautiful views and traversing Phunki Tenga, reach the vivacious Namche Bazaar. After long days of arduous trek, treat yourself with delicious foods at the bakeries and café at Namche. Spend time relaxing and stay overnight at a lodge.


Walk past the different villages of Jorsale, Monjo, Ghat, and Phakding to reach Lukla. Cross several suspension bridges, exit from Sagarmatha National Park, and Khumbu Rural Municipality. Relax at a lodge in Lukla. Celebrate the successful trek completion with crew members and fellow trekkers. Overnight at a lodge.


Fly to Kathmandu from Lukla, cherishing the scenic Khumbu region views and mountain peaks. Transfer to the hotel on a private vehicle and relax for a while. If you wish, you can visit local markets for souvenir shopping or just explore. In the evening, join us for a cultural dinner. Overnight at a hotel.
